Practice Nurse – St Giles Surgery (Begley, Pandey & Mortimer) SE5

Part Time – 15 hours

Salary – £38,000 to £40,000 pro rata and other benefits

We are a friendly surgery with a growing list size of 5000+. Our small, supportive and high performing team is made up of 3 Partners, an Advanced HCA and Admin support. We put our patients first as seen from our positive patient feedback.  Our current CQC rating is good and we have high QOF and other performance indicator scores.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and experienced Practice Nurse to join our team. The applicant will preferably have experience in a busy GP practice environment and should be able to demonstrate competence in childhood immunisations, cervical smears, chronic disease management, care coordination and travel vaccinations. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and closely as part of a team when required are essential.

Practice Nurse – St Giles Surgery (Rosemen, Vasant & Hunte) SE5

Part Time – 22.5 hours per week

Band 6 up to £38,000 pro rata

St Giles Surgery is a well-established Practice based in a vibrant and dynamic multi-cultural area of Southwark in London with excellent road links and transport system.

The Practice:

  • List size of 7500 patients, 3 GP Partners, 1 P/T Salaried GP,  1 Practice Nurse & PMS Practice
  • Purpose-built premises, spacious, well equipped.& Parking available
  • Excellent skill mix with clinical pharmacist and nursing team
  • Weekly clinical meetings
  • EMIS Web / Docman – fully computerised & consistently high QOF achievement
  • Practice rated ‘Good’ in all domains by CQC

We are looking for:

  • 1 Part Time Practice Nurse  starting at Band 6 and above -  22.5 hours per week (Monday to Wednesday)
  • The successful candidate will be RGN qualified and registered with the NMC
  • Experience more than 3 years as a Practice Nurse is desired
  • Flexible for some Early or Late extended access sessions
  • Experience of working with Chronic Diseases 
  • Have an Asthma and Diabetes Diploma and running COPD clinics
  • Can do wound management including compression bandaging and leg ulcer dressings
  • Experienced in cervical cytology and baby immunisations
  • Experienced in Travel vaccinations & Yellow Fever
  • You will have a desire to give an outstanding level of care to the surgery’s patients whilst being an ambassador for the site and the services it offers & having experience of working with a team of healthcare professionals will be vital, as it is the team that creates the warm and family friendly environment it is renowned for by its patients
  • Be an enthusiastic and motivated individual
  • A good team worker taking active part in the practice daily life including practice meetings, education programmes & protected learning time events.
  • Involvement in QOF and population management to achieve high targets
  • Experienced as an Infection control lead
